News & Updates

Latest news - Friday 3rd July

June was an exciting month for us as we started to slowly reopen the business and we will continue to do so, gradually, as the weeks go on. Here are the latest updates as we commence the next phase in reopening.

Phone lines

Next week, w/c 6th July, we are welcoming back some of our team members. This means that our phone lines will be able to reopen and help keep you better informed on stock items, lead times and unavailable stock requests. We will be operating as a skeleton team so please bear with us if the phone lines are busy or alternatively email us and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Payment optionsFor security reasons we may not be able to take initial payment, if you are liaising with a team member who is working from home. We recommend online payment through our paypal link (included within the invoice), alternatively a member from the office based team will be in contact to secure payment over the phone.

Our aim is to dispatch all orders of available stock within 48hrs of receiving payment.

Online shop remains closedWe want to reassure you that although our online store is remaining temporarily closed, we are fulfilling all orders placed, and at present we have no back orders unless stock is unavailable. Even though you can’t shop in the usual way, you can check product details, stock levels and pricing before placing your order via the online shop.

Orders and dispatchYou can place an order, reserve stock and secure your place in the dispatch queue by the following three options:Call (+44) 01229 588877 or 588468Email: sales@the-pbc.comClick ‘notify me’ on any zero stock item and we will let you know when stock becomes available

If we do not have enough stock to fulfil your order, or if the product is currently out of stock, please do let us know what you need and we will do our best to get it to you as soon as possible.

We are increasing our dispatches to daily collections. Currently, all our couriers have still withdrawn any guarantee on their services which does mean at present we are unable to offer next day delivery, although we will try our utmost to have your goods delivered as soon as possible.

Ongoing safety measuresOur priority and responsibility remains to our people - employees, customers and suppliers. As we phase the team back to the office and warehouses, we are adhering to 2 metre distancing, placing extra sanitisers across all sites, operating with split working shifts and looking after our support network, the delivery drivers and courier teams.

Hand sanitizer bottles and closures

11 March 2020

Due to the coronavirus outbreak, we are experiencing unprecedented levels of enquiries and orders for bottles and closures suitable for hand sanitizer.

We are doing everything we can to maintain our usual speedy service and response times, and will process your orders / respond to your enquiries in the most timely manner possible but please bear with us if there are delays at this time.

Stock levels for immediate delivery

If you require items immediately please check our stock levels and only place an order for items that are in stock. Our lead times for backorders with suppliers are also affected by increased demand.

Working with suppliers

We are working hard with all our suppliers to secure additional stock that is available now, as well as placing orders with manufacturers to have additional stock produced to meet such high volume requirements.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your patience.

Supply chain implications

05 March 2020

Our aim, as a business, is to buy from UK manufacturers and suppliers as much as possible. The small number of product ranges we purchase directly from outside of the UK are NOT currently affected by the impacts of the coronavirus outbreak.

Our main supplier in the UK does, however, purchase some of their product range from China and some from Italy so we are working closely with them to understand which ranges may be affected.

We will continue to keep you updated.
